About Me

My photo
Originally from Puerto Rico, I came to live in Tampa, FL at the end of summer of '93. Coming along with my mother we settled in a neighborhood in Tampa Heights. I grew up and started a family of my own in which I produce two beautiful kids, my daughter Larisha and my son Leander. I love them with all my heart and this blog is dedicated to them. They are my motivation to losing weight. I need to get healthy so that my life here on Earth is long enough for me to enjoy my children.

Al Natural

As you know now I incorporated some hunger suppressants pills to my diet. Well they worked, but they were hitting my pockets too hard. So, I only took the pills for the first two weeks. Ironically I managed to not put the weight back on that I had already lost, but I also ended up losing more weight, of course not as drastic as I planned on. So far I have lost 18 pounds. My short-term goal is to lose 30 by January, I think at this rate I can surpass that. Wow, I just realized I lost 18 pounds in 1 month! Didn't think it could be possible. It's weird how I can't really tell the difference, but others tell me they can see it in my face. I do feel better and stay more active. Since I've been all natural I tend to eat more than when I was on the pills. In a way I kind of want to take them because it helped control my hunger longer and caused me to eat less. I guess if I find myself struggling I could use a little boost to get me back on track. Talk to ya soon with my next update.

                         Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Bearer of Good News

Well, well, well! Did ya miss me? So, I am assuming you want to know how my week went with my new diet. Let me tell you, it was G-R-E-A-T! Back on the last week of September (2 weeks ago) I decided to be more careful with my food intake. When I starter the actual diet (1 week ago) I had lost 6 lbs. Tuesday was my weight-in at the Dr's and I lost an additional 4.8 lbs. That's 10.8 lbs in 2 weeks. WOO HOO! I'm sure people might not like the fact that I am not doing it completely natural. Injections and pills??? Well, the injections is a mixture of vitamins that basically gives me a boost of energy (that I definitely need), and the pills help suppress my appetite (I find I am not eating unnecessarily or over eating, specially when I am home bored). Staying within my 1200 calories, I thought it was going to be difficult, but with the meal planner I got from the doctor and not feeling starved all the time it has helped tremendously. I don't have a gym membership yet, but I don't think I need to spend all of that money unless I need to lift some dumbbells. I have been opting in for walking instead of driving whenever I can, and doing some cardio workouts in front of my TV set with the cable's "Sports & Fitness On Demand" channel.

Here are some of the things I ate this past week:
Yogurt Smoothie & Wheat Toast w/Peanut Butter

1/2 of an IHOP Simple & Fit Meal

Rice, Green Beans & Cubed Steak (PR Style)

Rice with Turkey Meatballs

Spinach salad with Chicken & Fruit

I'm back, hopefully this time for good!

Haven't been doing so well with the weight loss in the past 10 months since my last post. I have steadily gained weight and unable to maintain it down. Today I decided to take a drastic step into weight loss. I have started a Physician Supervised Weight Loss program. I will get an injection every week of a vitamin complex that will give me a boost in energy (I really need that). On top of that injection I will be taking a hunger supresant pill. The doctor has put me in a 1200/day restricted diet and excercise plan. Doing so I am expected to lose 2.5 lbs every week. I am excited about this. I think that the thought of having someone follow up on my progress will get me to stick to my diet (specially since I am paying for this). I will keep you guys updated in my weight loss journey, or you can follow me on My Fitness Pal this is a link to my page. Talk to you later!!!
